What is Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)? PARENT HANDOUT

As we mentioned in our last post, it is a good idea to cover what the diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder means when providing ABA parent training services to parents of children with autism.

If you’d like to have a handout that you can give to parents in your ABA parent training session, you can get this ABA parent training handout with lots of others in the official ‘One-Year ABA Parent Training Curriculum.’

Helping parents to understand what ASD means and how the diagnosis applies to their child is an important part of ABA parent training curriculum. Sometimes providers forget to address this topic and they assume that parents already understand what autism spectrum disorder is when sometimes the parents are not really familiar with ASD or how it applies to their child.
