First, great title of the Exhausted Woman, and am sure many women can relate just to the title!
Good job in the articles by pointed out key factors of narcissists and how smear campaigns are started and utilized. I want to remind others that *knowledge* is personal power, and just knowing what is going on will start to turn the tables and give you a sense of sanity (and you will need it around gaslighters/narcissists/smear campaigners) You have to remember, readers, that a smear campaign’s goal is to break you down internally (many aspects, here) and to deter any truth of any matter of what happened or with what is going on. Knowing this and keeping knowledge of who you are with belief in yourself will outdo any of the smear campaign’s pathetic and useless games. God Bless!

How should I anticipate the slights beforehand (of the world)?
I respect myself and take good care of myself.
Besides “avoiding the obvious traps” including avoiding all people, what are the proper responses?

The proper response is to continue to be you in light of the other person. Regardless of how they act, you need to be true to yourself.
