Meditate every day, silent, sitting meditation. other guides are fine too, but not the same. Nothing wrong with doing more than one a day 🙂
Secondly, my dog brings me great joy, unconditional love, reason to walk, and someone to care for that doesn’t email, text, call or whine.

I appreciate reading comments that other clinicians posted regarding self-care. It is crucial in our field to do regular self-care. Some ways I relax or unwind include walking my dogs each day, listening to music that inspires me, and humorous shows, movies, people, or books.

    This article is great.
I spend so much time in my office seeing clients and completing my psychiatric charts I feel sometimes like a ripe mushroom never seeing the sun light.
So here in Arizona, as hot as it gets during the day I still find time to take a drive in the
desert, see the stars and listen to Steven Halpren’s music for the road. Sometimes just a little fresh air helps me become centered for the next day in the office.
